Relational Healing

Aug 24, 2021

How do you know if you are making progress in therapy? I’m asking clinical psychologist, Dr. Jean Cheng, these kinds of tough survivor-straight-talk questions so that we all find help that is actually going to help us. She answers that and more, explaining how a therapist can connect with your own inner wisdom when they are trauma-informed. Jean also teaches us why our emotional self can be very young if we’ve had certain kinds of childhood experiences. So, if your professional achievements are off-the-charts (hello, performance parts!), but when it comes to your partner, children, or parents, you don’t recognize yourself, then this episode is for you.

Jean is a Clinical Psychologist practicing in Singapore. Since her adolescent years, Jean has been passionate about alleviating human suffering and helping others (and herself) experience freedom from the inner prisons that limit one from living life to the fullest. Her special interest is in helping her clients build a positive relationship with themselves. This informs her passion for inner child work. She believes that when we are able to see, pay attention, and honor the inner child in all of us, we are then rewarded with the joy, curiosity, confidence, courage, purpose, and contentment that a child who is loved and secure embodies naturally.
